This is your opportunity to make the future happen by starting your IT studies at Monash University in 2012.

Direct Offers

Applicants who have not applied for any course via VTAC can apply for a Direct Offer from Monday 6 February 2012. You can apply via an online application, or via a hardcopy application.

Most IT courses still have CSP places available for semester one intake. If you're studying at another institution you might be eligible for credit towards studies already completed, which makes your transition even easier.

You may be wondering

Which courses do we offer?

What if I don't get the ATAR I expect?

Don't panic! Monash University has several options and pathway programs to help you get to where you want to be:

  • The ATAR scores for our IT courses in 2011 range from 70 to 85. Applicants who do not receive an offer to their chosen IT preference should contact the Faculty of IT to discuss their option of enrolling in another one of our courses. All first year students are completing the same common core units in our IT courses and they can transfer their course after performing well academically in their first semester.
  • If you meet the course entry requirements but don't have the ATAR score, you can enrol into two single units. For further information visit Single Unit Pathway.
  • If you don't meet the ATAR requirements for the BBIS, BCompSc, BSE, you can apply for admission into the BITS degree, as a pathway course. You can complete the first year common core units and then apply to transfer to your preferred IT course.
  • The popular Diploma of Tertiary Studies (DoTS) lets you apply to Monash with an ATAR of 50 or above. Once you've completed DoTS at our Berwick or Gippsland campus, you can apply to an undergraduate degree in the Faculty of Information Technology. At Gippsland, you can complete up to six IT units within the DoTS and get up to one full year of credit into an IT degree. Read more about the Diploma of Tertiary Studies (DoTS).
  • Enrol into another tertiary institution, perform well academically for at least one semester and transfer to Monash in July (Mid-year intake). Credit transfer is available for some or all units completed successfully. Read about the undergraduate course transfer requirements.
  • You may be able to use your TAFE (Certificate IV or Diploma) qualification or other further education qualification to gain admission into an IT course. Read about applying for a course.

Industry Based Learning (IBL) scholarships, up to $34,000

Our IBL program offers industry placements at leading organisations with attractive scholarships (up to A$34 000), which lead to exciting, well-paid and prestigious graduate positions. Students apply skills gained from their university studies in corporate environments during one or two 22-week placements.

Students on placement receive a A$15,000 scholarship and their industry work is assessed and credited towards their degree. The IBL experience makes our students job-ready and appealing to organisations for full-time employment upon graduation.
